With a compliment of 60+ players, the Symphony is the senior most group in the OSYO family of ensembles. Open to high school and post-secondary instrumentalists the Symphony performs repertoire spanning a wide range genres from classical and romantic to contemporary works for full symphony orchestra. Members of the Symphony also participate in smaller chamber ensembles including string orchestra, brass choir and chamber groups.
In addition to regular performances for the public, the Symphony has also traveled internationally, performing at festivals and competitions in the United States and Europe. The Symphony recently returned from a successful tour of Vienna, Austria, where the orchestra represented Canada at the Summa Cum Laude International Youth Music Festival, culminating in a performance in the Golden Hall of the world-famous Musikverein.
