
Esteban Cambre
Conductor, Sinfonia & Philharmonia
Esteban Cambre is a dynamic and inspiring musician, conductor, and educator. His music studies started early as a treble at St. Michael’s Choir School, followed by completing a certificate program at the Royal Conservatory in violin performance studying under Eugene Kash, and both undergraduate and graduate music degrees at the University of Toronto. Post-graduate studies include orchestral conducting programs with Helmuth Rilling (Germany and USA) and George Holst (UK).
As a violinist, singer, and conductor, Esteban has performed with Tafelmusik, the Aradia Ensemble, and the Elmer Iseler Singers, and worked with many of Canada’s leading ensembles. He also is currently the music director at St. Martin of Tours Catholic church in Mississauga.
Esteban began teaching strings and orchestra at Appleby College in 2003 and has since built its program to international recognition including leading several music performance (strings, choir, and orchestra) and experiential music (Strings and Orchestra) trips to Austria, Barbados, Bermuda, Canada, Cayman Islands, China, Germany, Greece, Japan, Turkey, and the United States. In 2022, Esteban was asked to coordinate a string performance at the national memorial service for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, which was aired throughout the British Commonwealth.
